Theme: “Business Forensics: Risk Manangement and Mitigation in the Asia Pacific”. Speakers: Mr. Nick Robinson, National Leader, Forensic & Dispute Practice of Deloitte China and Ms. Gina Campbell, Partner of Deloitte Calgary.

They will discuss strategies and practices for managing risks while capitalizing on opportunities and doing business in the Asia Pacific, including China. They will also share their experience on taking proactive measures to mitigate common risks for international expansions.

MR. NICK ROBINSON, National Leader, Forensic and Dispute Practice of Deloitte China,

MR. NICK ROBINSON, National Leader, Forensic and Dispute Practice of Deloitte China, leads the Forensic and Dispute practice for Deloitte China LLP. He has worked on a variety of engagements, including the creation of an organization wide anti-corruption and fraud control program; the development and establishment of a global risk based due diligence program focusing on integrity and compliance risk in a global supply chain; and was part of the leadership on a compliance-driven review of a client’s operations in China following concerns over inappropriate payments and fraudulent accounting.

Formerly the head of Security and Investigations for a major U.S. retailer’s Global Procurement team based in China, he has more than 19 years of financial crime investigation and integrity compliance experience. Nick was also employed by another Big Four forensics team, where he was responsible for regional fraud risk evaluation/prevention services, investigations and anti-money laundering engagements.  Prior to this Nick was a Detective Inspector with the Commercial Crime Bureau of the Hong Kong Police.

MS. GINA CAMPBELL, Partner of Deloitte  is based in Calgary with over 11 years of experience conducting forensic and dispute engagements.  She has been involved in investigations in the areas of alleged fraud, financial misconduct, breach of fiduciary duty and corruption. Gina has conducted investigations globally for clients in industries such as energy and resources, manufacturing, technology and telecommunications and public sector. She has been extensively involved in numerous anticorruption investigations that included presenting investigative findings to a number of regulatory authorities.

In their presentations to HKCBA, the speakers will discuss strategies and practices for managing risks while capitalizing on opportunities and doing business in the Asia Pacific, including China. They will also share their experience on taking proactive measures to mitigate common risks for international expansions.
